The transgender movement has reached a new level of heartbreaking. The headline in a recent edition of the New York Times reads, “The New Girl in School: Transgender Surgery at 18.” Anemona Hartocollis writes about a young person identified as Katherine Boone recovering from an operation “that had changed her, in the most intimate part of her body, from a biological male into a female.” Hartocollis continues, “With growing tolerance, the question is no longer whether gender reassignment is an option but rather how young should it begin.” A rather ominous and frightening question.
She shows that once the transgender ideology has been adopted, the moral issue simply becomes who has the right to demand this kind of surgery and at what age? And if you accept the logic, it’s going to be younger and younger and younger. There is simply no moral boundary to keep that from happening. It will unravel the entire structure of personal identity and what it means to be human, not to mention what it means to be male and female.
