Trump Insults Press, Press Infuriated

Jake Tapper went so far as to say “You legitimately won the presidency. Now get to work and stop whining about it” (The Hill).  From the Associated Press:  Critics of President Donald Trump saw in his news conference a combative, thin-skinned chief executive who continues to blame the media for the controversies roiling his administration. His supporters saw something else: A champion of Middle America who is taking on the establishment and making good on his campaign promises to put the country first (AP).  From ABC News: …the press conference showed the president willing to take on the press in a head-on confrontation — the man we saw almost every day on the campaign trail — calling reporters “out of control” and “so dishonest.” The appearance showed how the president is still very much in campaign mode, bringing up his Electoral College victory and his defeat of Hillary Clinton months after the November election (ABC News). From the much abused CNN: During his remarks, Trump made several statements about the media that were either untrue or misleading (CNN). From the Wall Street Journal:  Political reporters are bewildered by his unconventional style, but the spectacle was Mr. Trump at his Trumpiest (WSJ).  A look at some of the insults (Newsbusters).  Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski Tweeted “This feels like a fake presidency” (Mediaite).  Ben Shapiro’s Ten Takeaways (Daily Wire).  Hugh Hewitt encourages all to not panic over Trump (Washington Post).
