What ISIS Really Wants

This lengthy article is making the rounds online.  Writer Graeme Wood notes “We are misled … by a well-intentioned but dishonest campaign to deny the Islamic State’s medieval religious nature.”  Later:  “One way to un-cast the Islamic State’s spell over its adherents would be to overpower it militarily and occupy the parts of Syria and Iraq now under caliphate rule. Al‑Qaeda is ineradicable because it can survive, cockroach-like, by going underground. The Islamic State cannot. Pope Says “the Choice to not have Children is Selfish”

Uh-oh, he’s at risk of not being the favorite pope of the left with that kind of talk.  He elaborated:  “A society with a greedy generation, that doesn’t want to surround itself with children, that considers them above all worrisome, a weight, a risk, is a depressed society” (Washington Times).  The left is already upset.  From NPR:  The pontiff’s remarks come just weeks after he seemed to send a contradictory message, telling Catholics that they don’t need to breed “like rabbits” (NPR).
