Obama Tells Police “We Have Your Backs”

But, the story notes “Despite his words, the Obama administration has said it would not light up the White House in blue to honor the fallen police. On Monday, White House spokesman Josh Earnest couldn’t explain why this symbolic step wouldn’t take place, even though the White House has been lit up before in pink for breast cancer awareness, and in the LGBT rainbow to celebrate same-sex marriage” (Washington Examiner).  Back in April, Heather Mac Donald took a close look at Black Lives Matter and their claims (Imprimis).  A Baton Rouge policeman who initially survived the shooting is fighting for hi life (ABC News).

Media Stumped as Transgender Man Takes Voyeur Pics in Target Dressing Room

Interesting that some in the media, this time, did not call the man a “she,” though they consistently do.  Why not?  And this man appears to be a genuine transgender, alias female name and all (Fox News).  Other stories called him a “she,” making their stories all the more awkward and inaccurate (KTVB).  Others tried to play it down the middle, with this story calling him a “person” in the headline and a “they,” “man“ and a “her” in the story (KIFI).

#NeverTrump Still Has a Dream

From the story:  Months after Donald Trump appeared to seal the Republican nomination for president, anti-Trump forces are making one last push to force a vote on the party’s convention floor that would throw open the GOP contest again.  It’s a long shot, but by some counts they are remarkably close to getting past the first hurdle next week in Cleveland (WSJ).  From Allahpundit: …if the “Dump Trump” contingent on the Rules Committee can muster the votes needed to issue a “minority report” on a rule to unbind the delegates, then the full contingent of 2,400+ delegates would vote on that rule. If there are 1,237 willing to replace Trump, then that rule will pass. And suddenly all hell will break loose (Hot Air).  From ABC News:  In order to actually change the temporary rules, a majority of the convention’s rules panel must support the change. But if 25 percent of its members — just 28 people — back the amendment, it can make its way to the floor of the full convention. Once on the floor, however, the motion would need to be approved by a majority of the delegates (1,237) to actually take effect (ABC News).

Clinton Meeting with Lynch Pays Off

The media is late covering this enormously suspicious meeting (CBS News). Lynch insisted “Our conversation was a great deal about his grandchildren. It was primarily social and about our travels” (USA Today).  CNN wrote it off as “incredibly bad judgment “ (CNN).  Then comes this:  Department of Justice officials filed a motion in federal court late Wednesday seeking a 27-month delay in producing correspondence between former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s four top aides and officials with the Clinton Foundation and Teneo Holdings, a closely allied public relations firm that Bill Clinton helped launch. If the court permits the delay, the public won’t be able to read the communications until October 2018, about 22 months into her prospective first term as President (Red State).  Is it fair Hillary has such a bad reputation?  In a word, yes (National Review).

Dreher: Christians Can No Longer Be Pharmacists

From the story:  The US Supreme Court today denied to hear a case involving pharmacists in Washington state who, for religious reasons, declined to dispense RU-486Plan B, the “morning-after pill,” which causes abortion. Effectively this means that Christian pharmacists who refuse to sell drugs that intend to exterminate life in the womb cannot work in the new society (American Conservative).  From Dr. Albert Mohler:  In one of the most ominous and important sentences written by any Supreme Court justice in recent years, in yesterday’s statement Justice Alito wrote, and I quote, “If this is a sign of how religious liberty claims will be treated in the years ahead, those who value religious freedom have cause for great concern” (Albert Mohler).  A troubling look at other areas where Christians are under attack (Time).  Meanwhile, the NBA continues to pressure North Carolina to allow men in women’s restrooms, with a clear assist from the media (CNN).
