Jerry Bowyer: Ukraine, Russia and the Fluidity of Conspiracy Theories

For years, we’ve been told by elite media that Trump was a puppet of Vladimir Putin. Now, we’re being told that Trump has a corrupt relationship with the new president of Ukraine. There’s just one problem: Russia and Ukraine are enemies. In fact, since 2014, the two nations have been locked in a war that has cost over 12,000 lives.

So: how can media argue Trump is Putin’s puppet—while he offers military aid to Putin’s enemies? This contradiction has apparently never occurred to today’s media elites.

They are pushing for impeachment based on an alleged attempt by our president to conspire with the Ukrainian president for political gain. So: which is it?—conspiring with Russia or conspiring against Russia?

Before they move on to their next attempt to end Trump’s presidency over this conspiracy theory, media should at least have the decency to admit that their last conspiracy theory was dead wrong.

Jerry Bowyer: Putin Got What He Wanted

As half the country goes through an unofficial period of mourning in the aftermath of the Mueller report, one thing has become absolutely clear: Vladimir Putin got exactly what he wanted.

No, I’m not talking about installing a Russian puppet in the White House. I’m talking about Putin’s actual goal: undermining faith in American democracy. And in this his most helpful, if unwitting allies have been most of the mainstream media.

Russia was seeking to delegitimize the expected Clinton victory. Facebook ads targeting Hillary Clinton in broken English didn’t undermine anything without the help of Putin’s unwitting partner: the mainstream media.

For over two years, guest after guest speculated about Russian agents “hacking our election. ” Partisan pundits blamed Russian interference for the results of every single race that turned out poorly for Democrats.

Putin got what he wanted, not from Mr. Trump but from his irresponsible critics.

Hugh Hewitt: What Bolton Brings to the West Wing

The Beltway establishment has reacted with horror to President Trump’s appointment of John Bolton as national security adviser. Ambassador Bolton, they claim, is a dangerous warmonger unfit for the office.

That’s wrong. As the president’s top security aide, Bolton will be an honest broker and someone who can drive decisions through molasses-thick resistance. These qualities, plus his top-shelf intellect, make Bolton the best national security player to join Trump’s West Wing team so far.

The bottom line is that Vladimir Putin’s worst nightmare just walked into the West Wing. Bolton can outlast and outthink anyone Putin, Kim Jong Un or Xi Jinping sends to negotiate quiet deals before the big public ones with the president.

There are rough waters ahead across the globe and the president is to be commended for surrounding himself with strong, competent and very smart foreign policy professionals.
