Mike Gallagher pushes back against Twitter censorship
Mike Gallagher: I'm sorry, I can't play in the Twitter playground. I can't do it. My friend Mark Davis in Dallas got his ears cuffed by Twitter. He reposted, I think, something from the Babylon Bee. Did you see the Babylon Bee? The head of the Babylon Bee, whatever his title is, Seth Dillon, is it? On the Babylon Bee? They’re a satirical site. And they made a joke about Rachel Levine and Twitter took him down. And they won't back down. They will not back down. They're not going to acknowledge that they did anything wrong.
Twitter wants you, apparently, to sign some agreement that you violated their rules. And I felt so sad for my friend Mark, because he agreed to sign, to check the box that he violated their policy against hate speech, which frankly has him pleading guilty of hate speech. And it wasn't hate speech. It's not hate speech to express a belief about genders and about science. And yet here we are.
And so, I don't want to play in that. I hate going on Twitter. I don't like giving them the opportunity to humiliate. And Mark – and I love the guy, he's like a brother to me. He's a dear friend. I told him this morning, you sold out. You shouldn't have clicked the box. He said, Nope, I need to be on that platform because I've got people that follow me, I've got thousands of followers. It's like, huh?
So, I don't do it. I just can't. I'm sorry. And I know I'm swimming against the tide. I know I'm not going along with – people get mad at me for feeling this way. Within the company I'm supposed to be on Twitter. I got research project results back yesterday from Harker Research, and I'm so proud of all the great marks we got – off the charts in terms of the show's appeal and retention and what people think of the show. And the one failing grade I got was because I don't engage on Twitter very much. You think I want to be in a position where I'm going to let some punk in Silicon Valley tell me I'm guilty of hate speech because I express a belief that I have? It's just incredible to see what people are put through and how they're denounced and how they're attacked on a regular basis. It's pathetic. So, forgive me that I don't go there.
“We're the alternative to CBS, ABC, NBC. That's how we're going to win.”
But well, Truth Social – to me, they're small, but growing. Rumble, Truth Social. I think one of Trump's sons is going to start a new platform. We just have to counter the beast with our own platforms. That's what this show is all about. We're not mainstream media. That's what Salem News Channel is all about. Thousands and thousands of people are discovering Salem News Channel. Discovering this new, what we call over-the-top streaming service. You can download the app anywhere, from any place where you get the apps. It’s all over Roku and all these places now where you can watch the Salem News Channel as you listen to us on this great radio station. Go to SalemNewsChannel.com. We're in Roku. You download the app on the Apple store, the Android store, and we're the alternative to MSNBC. We're the alternative to CBS, ABC, NBC. That's how we're going to win. And for the life of me, I swear. I don't understand good, decent, smart people who just want to play by Twitter's rules. This is a platform that kicked Donald Trump off for good. I don't want to have anything to do with them. I'm sorry. And I don't know why you would either.
